Gwen in Tokyo Okay, Gwen looking a little tired and pissed but most people who have seen this picture think she looks sexy so I decided to include it here. (picture taken in Tokyo)

No Doubt Update!

Saturday, November 14th, 1998
Wow, it's been a while since I put some new info up on this page. I've been busy getting this website converted over to Tripod's servers and I've been making a zillion other changes too. Well, I wanted to make sure everyone checks out No Doubt's brand new website at (surprise) NoDoubt.com. I've learned some cool info off of it, like No Doubt has FINALLY released a new song called "I Throw My Toys Around," written and produced by Elvis Costello. It's available on the soundtrack of The Rugrats Movie. It's in stoores now but since I'm broke as hell, I'll have to wait to get it. I'll write another update as soon as I've secured it. Also, No Doubt has material recorded and ready to make into a CD, but they have to produce the album still which may take a while. Tom says they have too many songs and have to pair it down. I hope it comes out in the next few months so they'll go on tour again! I haven't seen them live in almost a year and a half.

No Doubt's set tonight. Their set started at approx. 9p and ended right after 11p:

part 1 - Electric Light Parade (intro); Tragic Kingdom; Excuse Me Mr.; Different People; Happy Now?; D.J.'s (a Sublime song); End It On This

part 2 - Just a Girl; The Climb; Total Hate; Hey You (acoustic)

part 3 - Vader's Theme (Star Wars); Move On; Don't Speak; Sunday Morning (intros of band during song: Gabe, Phil, Tony, Tom, and Adrian)

Encores - Spiderwebs; Oh-Bla-Dee, Oh-Bla-Da (a Beatles song)

That's what they played with pauses after End It On This, Hey You, and Sunday Morning.. Overall, it was a good show. They had their usual energy, and the crowd was really into it, even though the biggest crowd reaction was for "Just A Girl." This being the eighth time I have seen the band, I really appreciated the fact that they changed their set, although I was disappointed they dropped my favorite song at the time, "Open the Gate." Anyway, that's it!

No Doubt Flame
The Story of No Doubt and Dustin

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Dustin was at a small get-together which was called Grad Nite '95. Dustin's high school went to Disneyland as part of this trip. During this Grad Nite thing, many bands were playing on stages set up throughout the park. As Dustin's group of friends approached the Matterhorn, they heard the distinctive sounds of ska! Well, Dustin really likes ska, so he persuaded his friends to hang out there for a few minutes. At this point he has never heard of No Doubt, and he left Disneyland not knowing the name of the band he just got to listen to. About a month later, Dustin and his buddy Steve, who was at Disneyland with him, heard the song "Just a Girl" being played on KOME. Steve turned to Dustin and said, "Hey, dude, isn't this that band we saw at Disneyland?!" Sure enough, it was! Eventually, Dustin bought the "Tragic Kingdom" album, and really enjoyed it. His favorite song was "Sunday Morning" (played live on April 11th on the Tonight Show, thank you.) But the album wasn't ska, and Dustin was a little puzzled. Soon he met a girl we shall call Christina (cuz that's her name). Well, Christina had liked No Doubt for YEARS, and told Dustin that they had three albums. So he got all three and was happy. Dustin has seen No Doubt many times (seven to be exact). Here's a listing of the shows he's seen:
